Applications for the FC Bayern Freestyle Tournament are open! From February 17 to February 28th, players from around the world will be able to summit their registration and show their talent through the club’s official Instagram channel.
After the announcement about the arrival of the FC Bayern Youth Cup to México, the German giants have opened registrations so that boys and girls born between 2004 and 2006 can show their talent and compete with other freestylers from around the globe.
In previous years the tournament was held at Marienplatz as part of the FC Bayern Youth Cup World Finals. The best freestylers from each country are selected to compete against each other, and whoever gets the most applause advances to the round.
In 2020 the tournament was held digitally through Bayern Munich’s global Instagram channel, for more than 21 million followers.
Freestylers from China, Singapore, the United States, South Korea, Thailand, India, Togo, Germany, and Nigeria competed in a Knock-out format from July 19 to 23. Fans could vote for 24 hours in each match, and the player with the most votes progressed to the next round.
Togo’s representative Sidike Tando beat his Nigerian counterpart in the final, earning a trip to London in July 2021 to attend a Euro 2021 match at Wembley Stadium in London, accompanied by the club.
