The FC Bayern Youth Cup arrives to México

FC Bayern and Curveball Sports have come together to bring the prestigious youth tournament, the FC Bayern Youth Cup, to Mexico for the first time in 2021.

In a statement posted on the official FC Bayern Munich social media, renowned journalist Fernando Palomo talked about the arrival of the tournament with Rudolph Vidal, President of Bayern Munich in the Americas, and Alan Achar, Executive Director of Curveball Sports.

“What is the Youth Cup and what opportunities does it provide for the youth of the country where it takes place?” Vidal explained: “It is the largest and oldest competition for young players organized by a football powerhouse. It started in 2012 and we have had around 100,000 players who have come from China, South Korea, Togo, the United States, Nigeria ”.

“What we do is give young people between 14 and 16 years old the opportunity to to demonstrate their talent and to prove their ability to be chosen to be part of the team traveling to Munich to compete in the Allianz Arena and ideally develop his career in soccer ”.

OOn Curveball Sports’ objective with this partnership with Bayern Munich, Alan Achar said: “the most important thing is to be able to bring Mexican soccer fans closer to Bayern Munich. This cup will bring us together, and we hope that in the coming years we can bring soccer camps for the following summers”.

Rudolph Vidal also highlighted the importance that the German club gives to its fans in Mexico: “One of our biggest fan clubs outside of Germany is in Mexico, with more than 4,000 fans “

“What we want to do is provide football opportunities in the country”

Vidal was also asked: “by taking part in this tournament, do these young people have the opportunity to learn to play the Bayern mode? ”, and he explained: “they will definitely learn while participating in the tournament. We want to teach them to develop skills that they can use, as motivation, confidence, teamwork and discipline ”.

On the future of the relationship between Curveball and FC Bayern Munich, Vidal stressed that “it is very important to us and we are proud to work with Curveball Sports in Mexico and we are happy to be able to give these opportunities to young Mexicans before the 2026 World Cup”.
